Well, after hearing back from my local Goodyear Tire Truck dealer telling me that the G670 tires, which I had ordered and had them shipped directly from the Ohio factory had a build date of 23/14 AND he wasn't willing to shave off any money because of this (telling me that 1 year is not that old), I told him to forget it.
Which brings me back to Plan B.
I am not fixated on having Goodyears installed....just had good experience with them since buying the coach. So, perhaps it was fate telling me to switch to Michelin or to Bridgestone...or whatever. I don't know. What I do know is that I want tires that are newer than 1 year old (or discounted for that year of sitting on the shelf).
So, if anyone out there can tell me of a high volume Michelin or Bridgestone truck/RV dealer within 500 miles of Vancouver, BC, Canada, I will drive there and buy new tires. Most, if not all, tire dealers tell me that they can't give me the build date until the tires arrive in their shop! What gives? It takes all of 5 minutes or less to read all 4 outside tires on my coach....do these new tires come wrapped up in a protective coating that prohibits reading the build date?
It may be that with all of the Motorhomes buying Michelins that those tires are newer because of the turnover, and that Goodyear has a surplus of the G670's which they want to get rid of....I really don't know. But when spending over $4,000.00 CDN for 6 tires, I want to make sure I don't waste any money.
Again, thanking you in advance.
