We just purchased a 40' 2000 Monaco Dynasty King (1 slide) this week! Our very first RV. "Go big or stay home" I suppose
Items already performed thanks to research on this site.
1.) 6 NEW Michelin XZA 3+ 275/80 22.5 LRH tires - Purchased and installed by Bauer Built tires in Indianapolis. They did a great job and did it pretty quickly while I waited. Had them balance the steers as well.
2.) Engine Service (Oil, Oil Filter, Fuel Filters, check coolant, etc), Chassis Lube, brake inspection, and Generator Oil and filter Service from Speedco in Indianapolis. They were very friendly to me, it was my first trip to a diesel shop and didn't make me feel out of place. The price CANNOT be beat! I was very pleased with their service and I learned a few things from their techs while I was watching them perform the service. I live about 1.5 hours away but I think I'll go back to them for the yearly service as I don't think I could do it myself for the prices they charge. Highly recommended!
Items remaining:
1.) Clean / Reseal roof and maybe apply Zep floor wax? (Appropriate for this type of roof?) - Still need to research the procedures for this and see if it is something I can tackle on my own
2.) Inspect a soft spot in the floor. Initially I thought this was due to the placement of a very large change jar on the floor behind the drivers seat. There was a divot there that seemed to be solid underfoot (Seemed like compressed carpet padding to me) but I think there is more to it now that I have the coach. This is a 15 year old coach, I expected problems and this is not the end of the world I don't think. I purchased cheaply enough that I can put money into this coach and still be ok. I think My RV inspector just flat out missed this. Sad, but such is life, I should have looked a little harder BEFORE I bought. Not sure if I could have gotten much more off purchase price though. We planned on replacing the carpet with something anyhow, so this will likely be done at that time. No dampness that I can detect there so not sure what went on there.
3.) Get the diesel portion of the Aqua Hot going. - This will be my project for the year. MY RV inspection was done at an Aqua Hot authorized service center, but I didn't really like their approach on troubleshooting it and will try to do this myself with the assistance of the folks over at
RV Hydronic Heater Repair - Home Heck I might even head to them for repair if they do it!
4.) Get my dash AC back to life. I'll need to find someone for this. AC is not my area of expertise. Though I will try to see if it is an electrical issue or not first.
5.) Get my drivers side window de-fogged. Not terrible yet, but want to get to it before if gets too bad.
