No air pressure

Today I received a call from my brother telling me that he lost all air pressure on his 99 Diplomat. He said that it started cycling more often than normal and continually got worse until it stopped building pressure all together. He said he was able to get it to a safe parking lot before the brakes locked down. I will meet up with him in the morning and we will go under it and see what we find. I'm really hoping it's something simple.

Here is a trouble shooting guide that might help.

Lots of components that could fail.

You might try disconnecting the line from the compressor to the dryer to see if the air compressor is making air.
Do you know if the air dryer filter has been changed lately.

Had this problem last year and the filter element on the air dryer had come loose. Was able to hand tighten it and get back on the road. Fingers crossed it's something easy like that!

Update, we found the air dryer was continually releasing air out of the discharge port. So we bypassed the dryer and was then able to get it back to his house. He said instead of repairing it he was just going to get a new dryer.

They are really not that much more $$ to replace, than purchasing all the rebuild kits!

If it was mine I would try to get a genuine unit, not a knock off.

A few have posted they had problems with china dryers

Totally agree.

And, have absolutely no problem with a FACTORY (i.e. the factory that made it, not "made to replace.....) REMAN air dryer.

It includes everything new (filter(s), valves, heater, etc.

USA makes 'knockoff' Wabco air dryers as well!

I have one!
