skip; the green LED was in the battery compartment, not the fuse/relay box with the loose small red wire.

Skip426: attached are the battery cutoff and gen switches showing wiring connections; any thoughts on how to test if switches are good? which wires do i hook up to voltmeter? switches are not working (I got your earlier mssg re: loose wire in the fuse/relay panel); i sent you pics of the battery compartment and fuse/relay panel earlier today so there isn't any confusion as to which solenoid.

following up on my switch issues - the attached pic shows the following:

1. Circle around 5 amp fuse (right)
2. Circle around loose battery disconnect wire (red)
3. Arrow points to post where battery disconnect wire attaches

What's happening: when I connect the red wire to the post and press on the
the switch, it burns out the fuse (right); I believe that's why
the previous owner had disconnected the wire...does anyone
agree/disagree?

The red box in picture , indicates , red wire is power to the solenoid ; if that red wire on the terminal is the same red wire as the disconnected one, yellow circle .
Then the battery disconnect switch is a low side driver ( switch to ground ) to operate the solenoid .Purple wire will go to the disconnect switch.
Some one got tired of tripping the switch by accident and disconnected the solenoid to stop the

there are 2 red wires (1 each to 5 amp fuses -left/right) and they are not the same as the red wire connected to the solenoid; these wires run 1 each to their respective fuses; i connected the loose red wire to the terminal below the fuse and activated the switch and the fuse blew; i believe that's why it was disconnected; your thoughts?

I'm here and busy catching up reading what you've posted today >

:EDIT : I do agree with the reason the power wire for the solenoid is disconnected .

I have a photo of the front power distribution center from a 2007 Camolot .
Note the small board mounted to the one solenoid terminal .

Could be a running change to deal with the fuse blowing issue .

Testing switches would be done with ohm meter , do you have a multimeter or just a volt meter ?

My gen set switch may be different; Onan 7500 diesel , I'll have to pull it out and check the wiring , but I don't have a dash gen set hour meter so probably connections won't be the same .

Can't figure if the disconnect solenoid is a low side driver , why the switch has more than two wires , should only need the purple from the solenoid and a ground wire to frame .

Ok , the device with the green led ; yellow arrow , appears to be non factory by the wires ( yellow/red arrow ) so you'll have to get to it and read the label , it might be similar to the Trickle Start . But you'll need to get it loose ; white zip tie isn't factory either .

Can you post any brand , model info you can find on the solenoid , testing for the blowing fuse , may vary if it's from a different manufacturer than the pdf I posted earlier.

It'll be tomorrow afternoon before I can pull my gen set switch to see if it's the same , and run some tests . I'll post as soon as I can add any info .

Going through my gen set manual, looking for the remote switch wiring diagram , and it just occurred to me , we might not have the same gen set .
Please confirm you have an Onan 7500 diesel genset .
First item in the check list for no start from the remote , is try to start at the on genset control panel .
Second is to check the fuse; page 3 , and it's not clear where the fuse is , diagram on page 3 doesn't list location
I'm adding that to my to do list tomorrow.
