No electricity to the chassis

I tried to start my Diplomat yesterday, but found that the batteries didn't have enough power to start the engine, and they would not charge up. I put in 2 new chassis batteries this morning and now I can't get any power to the chassis, no headlights, engine won't turn over, etc. I tried starting it using the auxillary power switch and still can't get any power to turn over the engine.

Any assistance on where to start would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Start troubleshooting by insuring that each negative post of your two new batteries are tied together....and that this "tie" goes to a good ground. Do the exact same for the positive posts of the two batteries, but the common "tie" goes to your battery cut-off switch. If you have a multi-meter, measure first across ("across" meaning: From a positive post to a negative post) of your two batteries....looking for 12.6 (or so) VDC. Then find a known good ground on your chassis for one lead of the multi-meter, and the other (positive) lead of the meter first to a positive post and then onto other connections you see in the battery-bay.

My thought is that something is mis-wired. A logical process of troubleshooting will get you going. Best of luck.

When was the last time this all worked?
What have u changed in the meantime?

My 08 knight has a pair of battery disconnects that are very real, they are off, i got no juice.

Beyond that, everything works as expected.
More info on your problem?

Thank you very much for the assistance. I had a new disconnect switch put in at the end of the year. Didn't bother to check over the work when i picked it up. A wire had come loose. Tightened it up, and it started right up.

We're off to the campground for Memorial Day weekend!
