Thank you for the pictures. Unfortunately they look nothing like what I have. I will try to jump the starter and work my way back. I will take some pictures and post. Hopefully one of you might answer this question when I provide them.

Ivan,

I don't see where you put a meter on the chassis batteries to check for adequate charge. The generator may be starting off the house batteries. about half the no start problems I've had have been due to flat chassis batteries. Below a certain voltage the engine won't try to turn over.

Our other non start problems have been relay and solenoid failures. On our coach these are grouped in the rear run box on the left side of the engine compartment. IIRC, the Neutral Sense, Ignition and Fule Pump relays are linked together and, when all are successfully triggered, enable the starting solenoid to operate. That's the large silver can. It, in turn, allows enables the STARTER solenoid on the starter. I used a meter to locate the defective relays. Another time the solenoid became intermittent; that was an "interesting" fix.

I have included a picture of the rear run box. On our coach it is located on the upper right side of the engine compartment. The key has to be on in either Front or Rear position.

HTH,

Still no run Box.....but....

SHE STARTED!

Went to the panel located below driver's seat

Removed the "ignition" relay and replaced it with the exh. Brake relay.
Started right up. Next, put the original relay back in, and started up again! However did so with some extra effort. I have not tested the relay on a bench yet.

Finally, on the starter solenoid, there was a loose wire that I ZipTied down. It's the small wire on the solenoid. It still has good contact with the post but I have not found what kind of nut goes on the post. It's a fine thread. Any guess?

In conclusion, all connections were tight and clean.

PS: I did not load test the coach or chassis batteries. I assumed that they were full (and still believe it to be) based on the fact that I just came back from a 2 hr road trip that had full hookups. As of today, the Voltage on the chassis batteries is 12.7-.8 based on the hallway inverter monitor.

Electronic Specialties 191 Relay Buddy Pro Test Kit | eBay Follow the link and you will find a relay testing kit. No More guess work, just plug in and test the relay in question. Should be standard equipment in Every Coach!

Try to clean and re tighten the small terminals on the solenoid first. The little wire on my starter solenoid wasn't making ground and acted the same as you are describing.
