Nomad 2 Upgrade

OK...I did the search and found where I had others helped before. Arrgh CRS!!

Anyway the problem now. When I go through the HyperTerminal setup I do not get the serial bootloader screen at the end so I can not upload the file. Tried multiple times. My notes do not say when to connect the cable or which end first, and I know that was important in the olden days. Clues??

Also in the search I see some guys have 40.9, is that for Nomad 2 with serial port and no SD card?? The last one I downloaded was 40.3 before the company closed.

It has worked great with 39.6 for about five years but now has a hard time finding/locking without a test dish first.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I thought I might have what you needed, but it appears that I deleted all that related to our MotoSat installation. That's unusual for me to do that, but I did.

I will share a thought, though. After an increasing frequency of similar experiences to yours, we took down the MotoSat and installed the Winegard Trav'ler. The MotoSat was a two LNB head, whereas the Trav'ler has three, so now we have the normal DISH offering, plus the local feeds, plus HD. It has not given us a hint of trouble, although it's only been on the roof for 9 months, so far.

The MotoSat worked for us for about the same five years that yours did, but when we could no longer update it, and when it began failing to find and lock reliably, it became history.

Not sure this will help but you might take a look at this site and then call RF Mogul, maybe they can help you. Mobile Satellite Systems, Internet, SNG, VSAT, TV

I've got the Moto Sat system as well and when I talked to RF Mogul in Quartzsite they said they could help if I had problems with my controller.

If it's any use to you, I can send you a copy of the 40.9 file. Just PM me your e-mail address.

I also have a manual with me, and I could take photo's of the upgrade pages and send to you. That should be readable I would think. Just let me know.
