Now you know why I get nervous.

So my wife took the coach to a dog show this week. Took her forever to pack everything, set up dog crates in the coach, food, cloths, dog essentials.

I made sure the coach was ready to go, I had already had been on a ~4700 mile trip so I knew the rig was good to go. New tires, new FASS transfer pump, New Batteries, Transmission filters, New steering fluid filters and oil, Lube job. Did everything I could do to make sure it was ready to roll.

She left Tuesday and suppose to return today. So I'm sitting here and she calls in a panic and says the low air alarm won't go off. My head starts spinning thinking about everything that could be wrong. She also mentioned that the Silverleaf monitor was not showing anything. I heard the low air alarm going off in the background and asked what the air gauge was reading, she said 30 psi.

I told her that it takes a while for air to build after you start the engine.

She says "you mean the engine needs to be running"!!!

Now you know why I get nervous when she's using the coach.

Jim-

You already know what to do. For the less-mature readers, here are the rules:

1) You greet the Mrs. with open arms and not say a thing about this (see rule 4 for a possible modification to this rule)
2) You don't relate the story to anyone (else), until...
3) The Mrs. tells the story in public to other people, to get a laugh on herself
4) And, finally, apologize (at the appropriate time, see rule 1) for having provided insufficient instructions!

I think your wife is a trooper for taking the coach by herself.

And you're an OK guy, too. ;-)

Well , coulda been worse!

She could have waited till you had driven half way there to inform you she fixed it by starting the engine !

Ya, right!!!

Back in 2013/4 I was doing a lot of traveling, the last full year I worked I was on the road +250 days. While I was working she traveled solo, not sure how many days on the road as I was usually out of town 2-3 weeks at a time (sometimes more). When I went to do the annual maintenance I went to record the mileage and she had traveled +12K miles.

So evidently driving a motorhome isn't like riding a bike, you don't remember what is required to drive it

Air system must have been tighter back then.

Never bled down enough to warrant the low air chime !

That’s an easy fix! I don’t know if I could let Katherine take the coach out even if she wanted to.

Ah, we laugh... but... there are a couple of lessons there.

The first is "not everything is like riding a bicycle; you CAN forget how." Or at least have some of those pesky details slip through the pesky cracks in our human memory.

Another, for me, is that use of a check list is a Very Good Thing. I'm good at keeping track of details until I don't. Uh, where did I leave my check list?

She felt confident to call you instead of trying "push through" a situation she didn't understand and you responded by being genuinely helpful instead of condescending. No wonder she kept you!

The condescending won't start until she gets home

In that case I suggest eating dinner before hand.

That's probably a good plan.

I appreciate that your SO can, and wants to drive your coach. My wife wants NOTHING to do with it. I had to make sure my insurance covered for someone to drive our coach back home in case I get sick or injured.
