Oil drain plugs on Cummins

We have a 2009 Holiday Rambler Vacationer which is supposed to have a Cummins ISB-AD engine. I want to put a Fumoto drain plug in. Question is when I went to their web site it states that you need two. One for the upper drain plug and one for the lower. I have found the fuel filter but it also looks like it has two oil filters. Anyone have any experience with this that can shed some light on it for me. This MH is new to us and I am new to the diesel thing as the old MH was gas as are my cars which I do all maintenance on.

You should have only 1 oil filter but you will have 2 fuel filters. The first fuel filter will be mounted to the frame rail in the compartment behind the drivers rear duals. It will have a clear bowl on the bottom. The second fuel filter will be mounted on the engine up fairly high. It's in the passenger side if the coach very close to the radiator. It will have a plug into the bottom of it for the Water in Fuel light. This is where they are on my 07 Neptune with the Cummins ISB motor. I would think yours would be pretty similar.

Also, you should only need one valve. There is another oil plug part way up the oil sump. It's there so if you only want to drain half the oil because of small catch pans. At least this is what I had read the extra plug was for on here.

Are you seeing a coolant filter that looks like an oil filter?

You will really like the quick drain valve...

There are two ISB engines, the 5.9L (found in pickup trucks and small RVs from 1998 to 2007) and the 6.7L. You have the ISB 6.7 (which came out in 2007).

Theses are photos of the right and left sides. The fuel filter is on the "passenger side of coach" (the left side of engine). If you Coach has a primary fuel filter it will be mounted on the frame (with the one on the engine called the secondary filter).

You can see on this oil pan, only one drain plug is needed.

Some engines have a oil pan with two sumps, one in the front and one in the rear, designed that way to clear some frame component and in that case you would need to drain both sumps therefore needed two drain plugs.

I've used the Fumoto drain valves and like them, except that they hang down and can get scraped off.
Paul told me about the Femco compact quick drain valve. It uses a quick disconnect hose to open the drain. It's a much better design as it does not hang down below the oil pan. I have one on our coach and use it to drain the oil into 5 gal buckets. Works great.

I have the Femco set up. It was a little more pricey but works great. I was told this is the drain system they use on fleet trucks. It is definitely low profile and I think it is a really good option. You do need to have a safe place to store your release valve and hose assembly.

Thanks Country B and everyone. I had a Fumoto on old MH and that is why I said Fumoto but will look into the Femco. What I thought was one of the is not. It is a filter mounted to the frame and has some wires which I assume are some type of sensor to it. I guess just pull it and see.
