I am looking for a repair facility who can convert a '95 onan liquid propane 6.5 kw generator to a vapor propane system, or who can repair the liquid propane vaporizer. So far, Cummins has indicated that all they will do is to replace the genset, which in a 14 year old coach is cost prohibitive.

Any help from other Monaco owners, or others will be greatly apprecated.

I'm really not too familiar with propane generator units, but could something like this be used?? Only thing I see as a drawback, is that it operates off 120v. They also have a tank mount for it.

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately these are all tank side vaporizers, now engine side. We will all keep looking

There are two Yahoo Groups that deal exclusively with Monaco Brand Motor Home including many that are similar in age to yours. You must have a Yahoo user ID and password to join the group. One of them is the Monaco Coach Owners here is the link Monaco Coach Owners Association. The other is Monacoers here is there link Monacoers. I think if you post your question to these groups you may get some info. Good luck

I would start with a good propane shop. Perhaps one who does propane conversions. I doubt that Onan manufactured the carburation system. Is there a name on any of the parts? Impco is a common mfr. Personally I find propane generators one big PIA but obviously you have a specific reason to continue with that fuel source. There are many large independent genset service shops that should be able to help.
