Oops! Lost my rear view camera

I have a 2006 Monaco Diplomat with a 3 camera rear view system by Weldex. The cameras have been intermittent at best with the rear one being the worst.
I had the camera out and connected it directly to the monitor and it works great, so ordered a new cable from RV cams - found them very helpful.
When I was reinstalling the rear camera it came loose from the panel itís mounted on and fell into the rear end cap. It is properly connected to the cable.
I canít reach the cable or the camera and canít see very far into the hole to find either the camera or the cable.
Any suggestions as to how I reach the cable and get the camera out.
I will replace the cable anyway but would like to get the camera back to reuse it.
Any suggestions?
Iím amazed at how poorly the camera was attached to the panel itís mounted on. The same thing could have happened easily while simply cleaning the camera.

It happens. Good thing is that it's not lost forever....

You're going to have to go "fishing" for it. Fashion a hook out of a short piece coat hanger with a loop on the other end. Then take some strong line; fishing or small rope. Attach those together and drop it into the opening. Hopefully you will be able to hook onto the cable and gently pull it up.

You might even have to make another "fishing line" to get a second purchase it you can only get the first catch only part of the way up. It could be 4ft down to the bottom; probably close to your coach floor level.

Have patience and you will eventually retrieve your camera.

Best of luck!

Glenn

If you don't have a wireless endoscope yet, this would be a good excuse to get one of those cheap ones like this:

https://www.amazon.com/DEPSTECH-Wate...NsaWNrPXRydWU=

You can use that along with the fish hook.

Just to follow up. I have a cheap endoscopic camera but it was useless- couldnít see anything with it.
Sooo I removed a bunch of the fan shrouding and drilled a 4Ē diameter hole in the wooden/fibreglass bulkhead above the radiator and directly under where the camera was mounted. I then reached up through the fibreglass insulation and the camera was right there, pulled it out and mounted it back where it was. Iíll have to redo the wiring etc when my new camera cable arrives.
