Optional Air leveling, Don't have jacks?

Getting started on our new to us 2000 Dynasty (Duke?).
It was advertised as 37', but actually measures 39'.
According to the brochure, the Duke was made in 38' & 40'.
I figure it is a Duke because this is the only model with the toilet sitting at an angle.
The chassis is a Roadmaster R3300, GVWR 33,000.
It has the optional Air leveling, & I was surprised to find it has no jacks.
The biggest item I need to do is King pins, & I was trying to find out if I could use the jacks to raise the coach to put it up on stands, then I discovered it doesn't have jacks. Ihave a pair of bottle jacks to get it up on the stands.

DjDave,

You mentioned that you have jack stands and bottle jacks. Ensure they are rated to lift and support the front axle. Since you have the know how to work on the king pins, just be safe.

You don’t want that front end coming down while you are working on it.

Wow, great coach. How do you know it needs king pins? Is it wandering?
Be careful with jackstands. They are rated in pairs.

Congrats on the new rig! Our 2002 Windsor has air leveling only and I love it. There's almost always folks on here having problems with their hydraulic jacks. It's very rare to have a problem with the air leveling.

With air leveling you don't have to worry about the ground being too soft under the coach.

Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

We bought it in TX., got home to MD, & need a state inspection to get tags.
King Pins is the biggest thing that didn't pass.
Also tie rod ends, so I will get a front end alignment, too.
I was surprised that when you have the optional air leveling, you don't have jacks.
I would think the Jack's would have more range to compensate for unlevel sites.
Have not tried the air leveling system yet.
I have also noticed that the master switch by the door doesn't turn off the interior lights.

Going to causiously try the air leveling system, try front up, then down, ect.
Have heard stories where windshield cracked due to on bag not coming up with the others, causing a twisting.

Congrats on the new coach. Air and Hyd jacks were an [expensive] option at least in '03 it was. IIRC the front airbags are controlled by one ride-height valve and the rears by one on each side. I've never heard of the windshield cracking from twisting by air bags; OTOH uneven terrain might do it.

I did not know any state did king-pin-inspection. Sounds like you're a pretty skilled mechanic if you can do a replacement like that.

Safe travels!

had some weird issues when I went to jack it up, I used 2 20 ton air bottle jacks, on on each side of axle. Right one lifted whole coach, left side higher than right side that had the jack. I had dumped all the bags prior, but found the right side would not dump. checked the solenoid on that valve, found coil to be open. For reference, I checked the left front dump coil, 16 Ohms. I see on the HWH site they sell the coil separately, wonder if anyone has found an aftermarket one? I loosened the valve, bleed the air down, & jacked up without issue. I have another issue to check on this same circuit, the right front lower fuse (#!) does not have power to the fuse when pressing the down button, the left front fuse does have power when that button is pressed. I need to look at my electrical diagram book that came with the coach to see if it has a diagram of the circuit board in the control box.

If you are referring to the HWH solenoids on the air leveling manifold, you can get replacements directly from HWH
or NW RV Supply HWH: nwrvsupply.com
My coach has the HWH series 2000 leving, and takes the RAP1940 coil/valve. They also have an RAP90989 valve, (dump solenoid) which has a larger orifice (5/32") than the regular RAP1940 valves (3/32" orifice), but the coil is the same.

The coil alone is not available, you have to buy the coil with the brass valve part.
