Our first Motorhome

Have been planning this for years and just this week have made the plunge. Pick her up next week. Quite excited to hit the road. Here she is:

2006 Monaco KNIGHT 40TLQ, Class A - Diesel RV For Sale in Williamston, South Carolina | Porter's RV Sales | RVT.com - 84888 with Video

I am far from retired (bought her through my business) so I needed a place to work. Once we looked at this floor plan this was it!

My only concern is my wife will be driving a good bit while I'm in the back paying for this, I'm looking for an office chair with seat belts .

Best of luck with the new coach. We also work from the coach some time and had considered this floor plan for an office in the bedroom. Love it, I'm sure you will too.

Happy trails.

Great looking coach!
We also fell in love with the dual couches up front.
I hope you have a little less of a learning curve to a "new to you RV" then we are having.

I expect quite the learning curve as we are going from nothing to a 40ft DP out of the gate. I expect to be a regular "what does this button do" newbie to the forum.

As exciting as the whole journey can be, it can be just as nerve racking once it becomes a reality and I haven't even drove it off the lot yet.

If it is still on the lot here is one thing I did not know I should do that I would recommend to anyone.

Open every storage bay there is, any door that will let you in and crawl in there and push up on the floor from the bottom. Mainly the edges and mainly by the slides. Anything you can reach, push.

If you find a soft spot, I have found they call that rot.
Rot is not good. Not good at all and needs to be fixed.

This can cause concern.

(I only say this to maybe help someone else. Not to alarm you. If in all the research I had done, had read this exact advice, I would have found this issue in about 2 minutes.)

Were your serious about a seat belt. The first thing that comes to mind is to install eye bolts in the floor on either side if the rear dinette chair. Then temporarily clip a seat belt to the eye bolts. This basically ties you and the chair to the floor and would keep you from becoming a missile inside the coach. Even if not tight there is not much room to slide backward due to the wall. Can't slide too far forward due to the table.
Might not pass DOT standards but might keep you from getting too hurt in case of a bad accident.

You guys must feel different than me. If my DW was driving I would be so scared I couldn't do any work. I'd be in passengers seat trying to help her drive.

Congrats on the new coach. Please check the date codes on the tires, especially the front. If the tires are original they could be 8 to 9 years old. Most 2006 year model coaches were built in 2005 and would have tires with a date code in that time frame. Does not matter what the thread condition is, motorhome tires usually age out long before they wear out. You may be able to strike a deal with the seller on new tires.

I also work out of my RV. I'm
Not sure how many hours a day you have to put in everyday. I don't travel on heavy work days or I'll stop every couple of hours and get my emails and do the important rush stuff and leave the rest till after I stop.
I use to work everyday behind my desk but I found my hours have evolved to the RV lifestyle as time went on.
Safe travels.

I have a friend that is a certified Class A technician that has already done a complete inspection, the few issues he did find the dealership had already planned to address as well as some minor things I wanted fixed, gave me no hassle at all on any of my request. Porters RV is a really great bunch to work with. Final walk trough is this Friday.

Very serious! The Coach has a office in the MBR, all the way in the back. Without a doubt there will be times I'm in the back working while the DW is driving. I brought this up to the dealership and that have a few ides we are going to discuss this week .
