Outside Refrigerator Latches Who Is The Wise Guy....
that invented them????? I have always wondered who invented them and WHY do all the RV Manufactures use them.
Has anyone come up with a replacement that is easier to work with out ripping off your fingers?????

Just get some of this Dupont Dry Lube from Ace Hardware to spray on the rotating part and the hole the stud goes into.
While you're at it spray anything that moves, door hinges and latches, step, generator slide and release catches, etc.

Drifter I am talking about those stupid latches on the outside. You know the ones that are square and you have to use a dime or anything in your pocket to turn the darn things.
While we are at it Who Invented the latch that holds the water heater cover on and why does all of the RV industry use them?
Yeah I will spray them with Silicon and I got Vinny to help me...

Sorry, I didn't catch on to witch ones you were talking about. Sense changing out to a Samsung you kind of never think about using those twist locks again. I plan on replacing the access doors with solid replacements.

Ha ha no problem can I say "YOU BUM"... I would LOVE to do the switch but there are way to many things in the way. $$$ and age of the coach and ME... Should the Norcold go completely. I'll drill a hole in the bottom and turn it into a big ICE CHEST... LoL

I never could figure this out either. After you buy an RV, you have no dimes left.

Those little twist lock latches are replaceable. I have seen them for sale on eBay.
I use Tri-Flow on them along with many other things outside and inside the coach.

Dunner, same here...the key is to use each of those 2 latches more than once a year...a visual inpection is always a good thing. if they are used from time to time..they won't get stuck
lee, you mentioned, should the Norcold go out...didn't you mean "when" the Norcold goes out? lol

I take the cover off at the start of each season and use canned air to blow out the cob webs.
