OVEN Versus Confection ??

I have an 02 Endeavor with 3 slides, kitchen is in one slide. Has micro wave combo-confection, no reg. oven. Wife will not use confection!! Have any of you installed a reg oven & if so how much of a job was it? Did you have to change the stove top all so? And when doing so, you loose all the drawers for silver ware, pots and p
ans & etc. Any help will be appreciated !!

Have your wife go on YouTube and watch videos on how to use the combo oven. It takes some practice but it does work.

Be sure and search for "convection" not "confection"

My wife never uses our oven, uses the convection/microwave to do all her baking, she loves it, I also have broiled steaks and burgers in it before! wonderful. Like posted, use it and learn, ours was our first also.......never heard of one before.........now won't be without one!

Thanks for your input,but my wife is pretty set in her ways. I have bought her books and etc. but she won't go for it. She is a good cook and wants her oven. I have had 5 motor homes and this is the first with out an oven. So any way, no one answered my ? about changing it out!!Any one out there that has done this,or is every one happy with there convection ?? The Road Runner

Most units were made in a way that you could either have cupboards under your surface elements or a complete RV stove. If you are lucky the cupboards can be removed and stove installed. But this involves gas piping and I would not recommend you do this yourself. You need a GOOD RV tech with some carpentry skills. Maybe a cabinet maker. I know that in Oregon and Indiana there are many who can perform this task. I do agree with the others that this is a waste of $$$. Why did you buy a unit without a full gas oven? Electric ovens work far better than gas. Especially gas RV ovens.

Never gave it a thought until my wife quit baking ! I am part plumber & part carpenter, I think I could do the job. I guess I will look around and see if I can find some that have both to give me an idea. thanks

I'm the cook/baker in my coach as well as a full timer for 8 years. I offer a middle ground. Go to an appliance store and look over the GE Advantium. They make a model that fits where your current micro/convection is mounted. My Sharp died a couple of years ago & I replaced with the Advantium. It's a very capable oven.

I would trade wives before I installed an RV oven. Is she behind me???

A regular oven needs propane to heat.... Getting it in a slide will be a challenge and could be dangerous....

The propane supply will be the same for the cook top , the OP is considering replacing, and a combination ; cook top/ oven he's thinking of installing.

Only thing keeping me from having to do the switch over right now is ; the DW , can't figure where she would put the items that are in the drawers that I'd have to take out.
She is slowly coming around to using the convection/ micro.

Skip, sounds like you and I have the same problem, the only difference is my DW is not coming around but am still working on her. Found several stoves in classified worth the money except for mail or travel to get them. Thanks again for all in put !! the ROAD RUNNER

If your looking, be aware there are two different oven sizes available, maybe brand dependent , depth is the same but the bigger is about 4" taller, 17" vs 21" cook top to the bottom of the oven. Last 5er had the big one and that's what the DW wants again.
