Overhead cab fan??

The overhead cabinets where the tv is, have vents and a fan that blows, controlled by a switch on the left arm panel. What is this for? We use the dash air for heat and A/C but don't see any purpose for just fans blowing air up top. How do you all utilize them?

Curious...

I have a 1996 Sig with the same option. While I am driving I find the cab fans circulate air (air conditioned or heat) around the drivers area. They are just a circulation thing and don't really need to be used unless you enjoy them. They do help keep the windows from steaming up in the winter months. I run mine when its real hot or when its real cold.

Thanks Joe. Might try that. When using dash AC, my wife is always cold while I'm hot, as well as the kids behind us.

Could it be to cool off the heat from the TV?

Hmmmm. Maybe.? Old tv is gone from there anyway, but that could have been the original idea.

My 07 neptune has the fan and outlets that you speak of. According to my retail price sheet from when it was built it is a windshield defroster. I tried it one time when the windshield had some moisture on it when it was cold outside. Didn't work very well. I think that's the only time I've ever turned it on in 7+ years.

Its has something to do with "wives" because I have the same problem. I find if I run the roof airs with the cab fans on high we are all happy. The dash air comes on only when its extremely hot out. AND still then she wants me to adjust the blower speed all the time.

Use them in some different situations and I am sure you will find a sweet spot.
