Overhead cabinets on A Monaco Riptide

I have three overhead cabinets above the drivers and passenger seats. The one on the right holds the dvd/theatre system and the winegard switch. I was wondering If I could drill a hole threw to the middle cabinet to add more equipment. The cabinets are all connected but the seem to be really hard wood, I really dont want to mess it up. I am getting a satellite mounted on the roof on Thursday and I want to specify how things are wired and dropped. Getting it done at Camping world. Would they drill threw the cabinets. Help. Please.

I would think that you can drill through to the other cabinets -- I don`t know what wood they used in the Riptide, but a good spade bit should have no problem going through any wood Monaco would use-- Be careful going through the other side, because the bit will splinter the wood when it goes thru -- Watch when the point penetrates, & start drilling from that side if possible, or put tape over where the point is -- A word of caution -- Camping World`s not going to be very careful, so watch them if possible -- Good luck -- Bill Willard

Thanks Bill! Your advice sunk in rather quickly with the "they are not going to be too careful" quote. I went out to the rv this morning and drilled it out with a hole bit. Turns out it is quater inch veneer and then three quater inch plywood times two. It took awhile to do it but now it is done and all campingworld has to do is mount the satellite and drop the line to the box and plug it in. Hopefully they will be careful with roof. The Monaco riptide must have a lot of splitters in the walls, I noticed the outside cable on the patio was also tied into the rear tv in the bedroom. But now I dont have to buy another satellite box, just a remote extender for the bedroom. Now my system is sweet with a media server and all the other perks of being at home while on the road. Thanks again, Jimmy
