Overhead TV Removal

I am trying to figure out to remove the overhead TV above the dash without destroying the cabinets. I've seen some remodeled cabinets but never any explanation on removing TV. This a 2006 Monaco Cayman SBT 36

On my 07 neptune I simply removed the 4 wood plugs on the face trim around the TV. Those 4 screws allow the trim to come off and expose the sides of the tv. My TV had aluminum angle riveted to the top and sides which was screwed to the metal framework. The TV can now slide out. Be very careful cause it's very heavy. My coach is an 07 but hopefully the same as your 06.

Are you talking about on the TV, or the TV and cabinet? Our TV was heavy, but not difficult to remove. As onechaddude said, you just take off the 4 screws on the front cover and start to remove things. Just be aware that you will be disconnecting the coax, any RCA jacks that connect to the TV and the power cord while you are removing the TV. I had my wife nearby to do the cable/wiring removal.

On our TV there was a bracket that connected the front frame to the top of the TV so I just took the whole thing down at one time. Then I removed the connection between the TV and the front frame.

I have no idea how you remove the cabinet work that holds the TV.

On our '05 Endeavor pulled the 4 plugs and removed the screws that held the frame on. Our TV had a large aluminum plate screwed to the back of it which was screwed to the inside of the cabinet. Had to take down the louvered vents in back of the cabinet (close to the windshield) which is held on by spring clips and pulled out easily. This gave access to unscrew the mounting plate and pull the TV out from the front. (toward back of RV). Easy to do but the TV is heavy, be careful.

Thanks for suggestions

I will try the removal as suggested. Know it is very heavy so will wait for strong support.

On mine there was screws going from the adjacent cabinets. When you do pull the tv box out remove the back by taking out the pocket screws on the back of the cabinet. then cut the box and then replace the same back using the pocket screws.

On my 2006 Allegro, I had to remove four 4-1/2" screws that hold the frame in the TV box. These screws are located in the cabinets to the left and right of the the TV box. Once you pull the frame off, it's easy to remove the actual TV. Watch out, it's heavy.

When I took the storage cabinets out to replace some flooring in my rig I found that they had not been built as regular cabinets but had been put in as parts and so after taking off the doors all the individual parts had to be taken apart - they went back just like they came apart but a lot of extra work
