The hose between the air solenoid and the PacBrake cylinder just barely reaches and is difficult to reconnect after lubing the cylinder. I mean, there is virtually no slack at all. Called Monaco and they say that this is normal but I'm not sure I buy that. When connected there is about 1/2" or so play side to side. I'm a little worried that engine vibration and/or movement could damage the hose or something else and considering taking it to a pneumatic shop and have them make one. Would like to hear thoughts from others.

It does sound like a potential problem, Mark.

Any chance of loosening a clamp further 'upstream' of the hose? How about adding a right-angle fitting to get a bit of extra length? (mine bends itself into an elbow right before the Pac-Brake)

Your solution does sound like the best-engineered version, though. Let us know what happens.

My hose is a straight shot from the solenoid to the pacbrake cylinder. No clamp, nothing. This weekend I tried to reach the solenoid from inside the coach but my arms needed to be longer. I'll need to do it from under the coach and that will be a bear. I have an email into Monaco asking for the specs on the hose and fittings so I can have one made or find a male/female extension. I really want this to be a one time trip under the coach. If I opt for an extension I can put it on the pacbrake side.

Problem solved. I went under the coach today and my arms, shirt, face, arms, etc cleaned the bottom of the coach.

There are 2 holes in the solenoid and one stud on the frame to hold the solenoid. Apparently, when the coach was built it was installed in the first hole. I moved the solenoid and used the rearward hole to attach it to the frame which gave me about 2.5" of additional space. It would behove all Knight, Ambassador, Diplomat and Endeavor owners to make sure the air hose has enough slack. Before the solenoid move there was no slack and susceptible to breaking thus causing loss of exhaust brake and possibly main brakes. Not too good of a situation.
