Park Brake Pressure Switch
Having some problems with my leveling system and after reading up, seems like I need to replace my Park Brake Pressure Switch. I ordered a pressure switch a few months ago and now ready to install. I noticed mine has the red wire cut and spliced into the blue wire from the connector end.
Is that normal for my coach or is that why I may have been having problems with it? I don't want to take a chance not knowing for sure.
I have attached a picture for clarification.
Thanks in advance!

Are you the original owner??
This doesn't look right,
I have a chassis wiring diagram for my coach and from what I can decipher is that there are 3 wire coming from the park brake, they are not color coded on the schematic.
one for the chime,
one for the dash light,
and then a relay that communicates with the VIM which I assume tells the transmission it can't go in gear.
Does your chime and dash light work?

I am not the original owner. The chime and the dash light both work.

Mine has three wires, one is ground, one goes to the dash light and the other comes from the hydraulic jack pump.

My trans goes into gear with the parking brake on. Actually, thats how I test the parking brake!

My transmission will go into gear with the brakes on or off. I know if the parking brake is not set, I can't auto level the coach. I have Valid air only leveling. That might be the 3rd wire.

Hmmm, trying to remember whether my leveling system goes to 'travel' mode when I release the parking brake, or put the transmission into gear.
I usually switch to travel mode manually right after starting the engine, so it's been a while.

I do the same, but If I don't put it in travel mode and start driving, it will beep when I hit about 2-3 mph and then go into travel mode.
I had a problem with that switch a few years ago. Even though the brake was applied, the light on the key board was not lit and when I push "Auto" it would beep and not allow it to auto level.

I drive on / off ferries in manual mode, with the coach raised. It will continue to beep until I push travel, or I believe about 12 mph.

You got me curious. I don’t think I can go that fast without it swapping over.
I’m going to try it.

To 'lock' it at the height you want in manual, after pushing D, and taking off parking brake, quickly press manual mode on the keypad again.
Believe it's 10 or 12mph. I've never gone fast enough for it to switch to travel on it's own.

The problem I am having is the control panel will sometimes flash wildly and the alarm will sound. It did that a couple times while I was driving. The biggest problem is when trying to raise the jacks it keeps asking me to set the parking brake. But, the brake is set. Sometimes it works ok, sometimes not.
But, I fear my luck may run out someday and I will be out on the road. Reading up on that, sounds like I need to change that pressure switch.
So, I'm thinking I should just hook it up just as it comes without splicing the wire. Doesn't sound like it should cause any damage by what you all are saying?

I can't be of much help to you because I don't have leveling jacks, just air leveling.
I have read that the jacks and parking brake switch are linked, so changing the switch may work.

Yeah, I would definitely hook it up the way it comes first.
