Parking Brake sensor switch secondary issue

I think I have the common cited buzzer associated with the parking brake sensor. After starting the engine, it doesnt take too long and the low air light goes out and a short while later, both air guages settle in around 100psi. However the buzzer does not stop until several minutes later.

Okay, a PITA but not high enough on the ToDo list yet.

While in storage I want to run the engine, genny and check on a few things and take her out to stretch her legs. But, it was cold (35F) outside and after the engine was started I wanted to bump up the idle rpms with the "cruise" to get the temp up before pulling out. My coach will let me bump the rpm twice using the cruise control on the wheel. However, while the buzzer is sounding, I cannot get the cruise to turn on. Once the buzzer is off, I can (and bump the rpms).

I guess the sensor just moved up on the to ToDo list. Any idea how much Monaco wants for the part?

I belong to the Yahoo Monacoers Group, which has an extensive parts list for Monaco coaches.

The part that they list is a
Nason SM-1C-66R/WP28

I did a quick search, Veurinks has one

Hello - I don't know about Monaco parts but the sensor should be about $40 online. I got mine from NW RV Supply in Eugene Oregon.

I had that problem and the sending unit was on the front air tank. You can buy them at any truck parts vendor.
Just be careful under your coach when working with air. If the air bleeds off you can be crushed.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I also read that the part goes near/under the brake knob. So it would be something I would tackle myself. Im getting too old to be under the coach.

Yes, the part that I listed goes on the bottom of the park brake button. Looks fairly easy to change, on my side console you have to remove ~10 screws and lift the whole thing up to access. I've done this before to fix something else, shouldn't be to hard of a job.

If you have time to wait I would suggest looking at your sensor and making sure you get the right part, there are a number of these listed at NW RV Supply but none with this number.

Let us know how it goes.

Your parking brake sensor is not part of the low air alarm. The low air sensor will probably be in the tank. The one on the parking brake button works the brake lights and maybe a warning light. Make sure the tanks are empty before removing the sensor( switch). There should be a drain on each tank.

Good luck
