Passenger Seat Removal

I have a 1997 Monaco Executive, the motor that controls the leg rest has decided to retire and needs to be replaced. Anyone have any experience on how I might go about replacing this motor?

Yup, I've removed the passenger seat several times. Mine is fastened to the floor with 4 large bolts. There is a single wiring plug that provides power. Once the seat is loose you can flip it over to work on the bottom side. If needed you could also look at taking it loose from the pedestal for better access to the motors.

Sorry - few of us will be familiar enough with your coach to know what brand of seats it has. High end coaches often used furniture from Villa or the top-of-the line Flexsteel stuff. Do you know which you have?


If the seats swivel, there is usually a big nut underneath that clamps it to a spindle for rotation. If you can get a wrench on that to remove it and also unplug wires, the entire seat may lift right off. But often its a challenge to get at the underside without removing some panels and maybe the backrest.

When I removed my passenger seat first thing I did was to raise seat, then remove 4 bolts and unplug wires. Easy project.
