MY wife and I are thrilled with the results also with the fan upgrade.

Glad to hear. Called shop and was told my trailing arms are in but not the REK. The REK should be in on Monday. He told me the rear end is already torn apart and just waiting for the REK. My trip home from the shop will almost be 100 miles of road that I've driven a lot and it's rough in some areas. I'll get a good test drive to evaluate the ride comfort.

Got RV back on Friday and drove about 100 miles home towing the jeep.

Hit a few good dips. Before it would bounce about 4 to five times for each dip. Now it did one bounce. Normal driving was easy with just one hand. Also noticed the RV didn't seem as jerky while towing jeep.

One thing I did notice. It appears to put more vibrations to the middle of the RV. Stove and sink toppers rattled more and shower door came off track.

Over all it's more easy to drive and a lot less porpoising. My wife also feels the same way. Thinks it drives much better and the dog had no issues falling asleep during the drive.

Thanks for the feedback Brett,

I'm glad to see your MH is back on the road. I assume you had the Arms, Shocks and Air bags changed plus the addition of the Ping tanks.

Can you send me your email at cayman@amg944.com. I would like to get a bit more infos on your vibration.

Tks.

Brett, Installed REK on our '08 Cayman 35'. Dramatic improvement in ride. Also, broke down in August outside of Reno. Called AAA for RV tow. Said they didn't have a contract for the area and gave me a tow company to call for help. Upon return, submitted tow bill with nasty letter to AAA for reimbursement and received payment in full. Also tried to find out from AAA what other areas of country are not covered for RV tow, to no avail. Just signed up for Good Sam!

I sent a letter to AAA as well and complained some. I just got a check for the full amount of the tow which made me very happy. I just signed up for another year with AAA before I broke down. I think I'll check out Good Sam and Coach Net at next renewal time.

Taking the RV back out in a few days so I'll have more to say about the ride but so far I'm happy with the results.

I have heard alot about the trailing arm issue. I wanted to clarify what is being talked about. Are these the arms that go from the top and bottom of the axel back to the frame? And if this is the case where would they normally break? I Have a 05 Ambassador 38PDQ.
Thanks ,Jeff

AAA did that to us 20 years ago on I95 N in Wade georgia. IMO that is there intent and paying tow is what they would do any way without contacts in any area not close to a city. Coach Net all the way for us.

Take a look at this thread: Trailing Arms Cracked on Roadmaster . It should answer all of your questions, complete with pictures.

Poppa, your frame is an RR8R so this problem does not affect your coach. It's only on RR4R frames. Ie; HR Neptune or Monaco Cayman of that vintage.

Lucky you...

If you have the right class of AAA membership be sure to file with them for a refund of the tow bill.

Police are great.. Though the officer may not... DISPATCHERS KNOW EVERYTHING.

(Well when it comes to who can tow what, and who has tires for what, and such.. You see, Dispatchers have this thing called A RESOURCE.. (Hint It is a book, printed on YELLOW paper)

They also have quite a bit of knowledge.. But it's that big, yellow, book that is the real lifesaver.

I had great experience with AAA when I lost my driveline. The only negative is that they usually send the wrong sized truck the first time even though I told them the company they dispatched didn't have a truck large enough. Sorry we have to follow our script.

When the extended warranty wanted me to drive 90 miles to the Allison shop with a limping transmission, I refused and called AAA and had them tow it. Only other negative is they wouldn't allow a tow in the future so I had to call at 7am the morning of the tow. Wrecked the heavy tow company's schedule going down to LA and back without scheduling.

AAA and tow was great, dispatching lacking.

You might want to get your ride height checked as I was told that if your ride height was out that it could cause your drive shaft to be out of alignment and that could cause a severe vibration that could tear out your rear seal on your transmission. They should have checked your ride height after they did the installation one would think. Anyways I would get it checked before you cause any serious damage.

I've used Coach Net 4 times with two MHs. They've been fast and accurate with one exception. When I blew the exhaust pipe off the turbo they took three tries to get the right tow. It was under warranty andMonaco told me not to drive it. Funny, I had just driven it from Okie City to Branson Mo with no ill effect. Found out later they were afraid of fire. The problem was loud exhaust noise and the cause wasn't evident till I got where I could pull the covers off in the closet and there it was. The first tow was a regular car rig, the second had a "stinger" that was a foot short and the third was based about 60 mi away. Monaco was paying but when the rep found out I was a member the whole thing got butter smooth. As near as I can see I'm a customer for the duration.
