Peak Final Charge Global testing

I have seen many IRV2 members looking for test strips for Peak Final Charge Global Anti Freeze/Coolant. I installed Final Charge in my RV this summer and wanted to test it before cold weather. After calling the parts house where I obtained Final Charge and no luck then searching the forums for a source of test strips with - no luck. Visited my local diesel shop and they had never heard of Final Charge I was beginning to wonder if I had made a big mistake. I called the contact # on the web site for Final Charge this morning and spoke to a technician. I didn't find a source for the test strips, but did get the info I needed.

His answer was "you don't need to test final charge". That answer seems amazing since the Final charge instructions mentions how to top it off.

Anyhow his answer for determining if it is the proper mixture to protect from freezing is simple. Just use any test strip or use any antifreeze hydrometer!

Hope this helps anyone else with the same question I have had. Now I can have piece of mind -- at least on this issue.

The tech. is correct. You also should have switched to a coolant filter without additives when you did the switch.

I just did the coolant change on our rig. Used Detroit Diesel Power Cool Plus which is Old World Final Charge. There are no test strips to test it ans there aren't any SCA's needed. I changed the filter to a no additive one also.
Here's a picture of what can happen to a wet liner if you don't have the SCA's in your coolant or use an OAT coolant.

I did switch to a filter with no additives ... was surprised the blank filter was about the same cost as the SCA one... or close.
