Pecking order and battery charging

I have been perusing the numerous threads looking for info on whether or not my coach has a charging system for the chassis batteries when hooked to shore power. While doing my research, I read that the "higher end" coaches "may" have had this option while others did not. In short, I was unable to definitively answer my question. So my question to you, the experts, is this: My coach is a 2009 HR Scepter 42PDQ. Where in the HR pecking order is the Scepter, and does anyone know about the chassis battery charging system; is it there? I suppose that I could take a voltage reading while not hooked to shore power and another after hooking it up and see if there is a difference. But there is a vast amount of expertise and practical knowledge out there and I welcome your input. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Jim & Vicki,
I don't know on your coach. HR has pretty good service in my experience - an email to ask them might provide the definitive answer you're seeking.

Barring that, all you need is a volt meter to check the battery voltage with it on shore power and with it off shore power. Generally a charging battery will be low 13 volts for a very moderate charge. More aggressive charging maybe high 13s to as much as 14.1v.

These are easy to install and will take care of your chassis batteries well on shore power. We put one on years ago and the coach turns over like a bandit even after sitting for a month.

I have a 2007 Scepter 42 pdq and was told by tech support that if my coach was built a month later, it would have had the charging system on both banks.. So I did what Nodine recommended, I bought the add on and clipped it onto the chassis Batt. I believe you should be OK.
