I don't know whether this will help or not. But it might make it possible to bypass and bring the cord out and in.

NOTE 1: On installation of the CM-7 or CM-8 Cablemaster, convenient temporary operation or remote control of the Cablemaster by the installer may be desirable. With the power switch, limit swithes and battery con- nected, first jumper #1 and #2 to retract cable, then jumper #1 and #3 to extend cable. This enables the installer to directly supervise the coiling of the cable at the storage area.

After reading through this thread it would have been VERY helpful if the OP would have minimally posted the make and model of the winder as there are a few different ones that Monaco had used, some better then others.

A photo would have been even better.

Both of the RV products work on 12 VDC. The only 120 VAC is the power running through the inside of the cable.

I own the Glendinning Cablemaster winder. It's been trouble-free for 16 years. RV's only use two models, either the accumulator type model RLC or the reel type CRR-50.

Here is the model that I have.

Glendinning Cablemaster CM7-RLC

Actually it is an Auto Resetting Circuit Breaker it just happens to fit in a fuse holder.

Hey Richard the ---RLC book is what I sent him. There is an "emergency release".

Having just spent three weeks with our kids getting used to their new to them 06 Dynasty...I can sympathize with the end of day, probably in the dark, what the he## feelings he had.

Got the kids a great 06 thinking that most all would be the same as ours...yeah right...snowflake stuff even in the same model year. BUT we managed to overcome all of the Monaco Gremlins.

As with any new to you coach there will be the EOD (Event of the Day) for a while. Be surprised if nothing happens.

This Post says it all. .....

and don't be surprised that many of the EOD's will be self-inflicted and Pilot error.

When all else fails........ sit back relax have pop ( or whatever) and think it over before you go into total panic mode

There are NO two coaches built the same.... I don't care who the manufacturer is and what that emblem on the front says, they are most likely not be the same even if every option is the same? I'll bet they are not wired exactly the same way.

You need a DATA CARD from the manufacturer ( call them ) then your cooking.

and to the OP you should put Model /Make / Year and powertrain in your signature for prompter and more accurate responses

Open this file and look for the post it note.

The front run bay below the driver on the outside may have a panel of fuses and relays. It is a big box about a foot square.

See if this picture relates. Your may have the fuse layout on the inside of the lid.

Does the OP have voltage at the switch? If so, replace switch (standard hardware store item) or disconnect switch from power and spray with contact cleaner. Same thing happend to my Beaver and the contact cleaner saved the day.

I can't see the cord reel, and water hose reel, sharing the same fuse or Auto Resetting Circuit Breaker.

You might check to see if you have power at the switch to be sure but most likely there is a fuse or breaker that you haven found yet. Monaco tech support may be able to help you find it.
That's what I have, I had to open up the box, undo the tension and unkink the cord then reset the tension, then replace the fuse.

Those photos really don't tell the whole story of what is at the other end of that white tube. AFAICT the tube is only a pathway to whatever may be your problem.

My guess is that you have a power cord accumulator versus a reel but without more information I am only guessing.

When you touch the switch either in or out do you hear a motor run or not?

Protection for the power cord extend/retract system is on board #4 on the left side of the rear run box. That's the large "cabinet" in the upper right corner of the engine rear opening, looking towards the front. It is labeled 15A CB POWER REELS. It is not a fuse. It is a resettable circuit breaker.

That said, do you get any sound when you press the switch to suggest it is trying to operate? Our '06 Dynasty has the same system as yours.

If the motor sounds like its operating but the cord won't come out, even with human encouragement, it may be bound up inside the drum where it simply coils, loosely. That happened to us when the coach was "brand new", and I nearly panicked before it finally cut loose and came out. Don't keep the power cord totally clean. A very light coating of dry dust is not a bad thing. I always wipe it as it goes in, but I wipe it with a dry rag. So far, so good.

If it is not making any sound, PM me and I can send you the Monaco schematic for the power cable retract system. It will tell you all you need to troubleshoot it.

No sound at all when pushing the switch in either direction. PM sent.

Thanks
