Power Gear jacks

Have a Power Gear 500456 hydraulic leveling system. Has control for front jacks, left rear jack, right rear jack, rear jacks, on/off and retract all jacks. For years, occasionally, the pump motor wines, but jacks won't go down. After tinkering around, I've found if I slightly reposition (rotate) the fluid sensor (float switch), the system works. Have never had trouble retracting jacks. Finally decided, in consultation with Power Gear, to get a new (very expensive) fluid sensor. Installed new fluid sensor, tried to lower jacks, motor wines, but no jacks. Tried to turn position of float switch, but no cigar this time.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

You probably know that each (individual) jack as a electrically-controlled valve. With the pump-motor running, a valve opens upon your command and the fluid flows. I think your problem is that no valves are opening. But: I think you are telling us that when the jacks *are* down, the valves indeed work .... allowing the fluid out of the jacks and into the reservoir.

My thought: You're experiencing a voltage drop when the motor is running and the valves (upon command) are not "seeing" enough voltage to activate. These voltages can be measured. Got a volt-ohm meter? I'm thinking that you will see a higher voltage across the valve solenoids when retracting jacks than you do when attempting to deploy the jacks.
