Power generator slide

I was just out checking on my front generator. Sliding it out it is too tempting to grab the sides of the fiberglass front trim instead of the handle. Last time I had it serviced the folks that worked on it told me the front trim panel was cracked. Well it wasn't cracked when I brought it in.....but that's another story. But it is all too tempting to grab the glass area and give it a yank.

So last year my neighbor in Florida was checking his generator and his generator slide went out with the push of a button. That's pretty neat is what I thought. It would also make me feel a little more comfortable about the security of the generator. I have nightmares about it sliding out after a hard stop 🛑 and flopping out in the middle of the road!

If anyone has done this please let me know how hard or expensive it was.

Thanks
Scooter

You can get a clutched 12v linear actuator . There is one on mine it's not original don't know what was there OEM maybe air actuated. When it hits end slide makes loud clicks like a clutch just like one on works UTV dump bed.You would to do some wiring and make \add some mounts. Not saying it exactually what you need yet .You'll have to do some measuring and ciphering lol.
BUT
Here's the first on I found with 36" stroke I found .It shouldn't be too / overly strong at 88lbs .

I looked at several similar years brochures for the HR Endeavor to see if a generator slide was offered as an option. It wasn't but that doesn't mean you can't retro fit a generator slide mechanism.

The actuator that 153stars posted may work. I used a similar one and mounted on my bed to assist in lifting it, pretty powerful.

One thing to remember is that all the generator slides are wired so that there is an interlock to prevent movement while driving for safety reasons. This could be accomplished with the correct relay tied to the parking brake, which is a common way to do this.

Good luck, keep us posted.
