Ok I do have the Sheppard unit but I don’t have any play of any kind. My issue is the noise. Who in the know would be willing to PM me with their email so I could send the video/audio clip of what I’m experiencing? I’m going to give it to the shop tomorrow for their opinion when I’m in for a state Insp. I have filters and fluid that I will be changing but didn’t want to do it yet in case I need a new pump.

Would the shop have the equipment/knowhow to do a flow test on the steering circuit.

Attached is the pump for my rig, this supplies hyd to both the fan and the steering.

Using the Monaco number on the REV website gets you this but new pump is 127 days out. Seal kits in stock

Whitehouse products in the UK also carries these (note the number)

Power Steering Pump Issues?

[QUOTE=jacwjames;5802055]”Would the shop have the equipment/knowhow to do a flow test on the steering circuit.”

It’s quite possible they would and after showing the video and letting them hear the hissing noise while turning I’ll ask if they can? Thanks for the info.

I went back and looked at the service manual, there is no symptoms listed abut excessive noise in the troubleshooting section.
But there are relief valves within the gear box to limit excessive pressure. Almost sounds like it might be a relief valve.

Does the sound happen all the time or just when turning in a certain direction.

In either direction any time under a load but worse on first start up of the day. It does subside some after warming up. Getting a state inspection performed today and I have them looking at the video and giving me their opinion of the noise. There is a little jerkiness during that initial warm-up but still have full assist.
