We have a trueinductgion cookgtop and love it. Much better than propane. More info at Double Burner - Counter Inset Model.

I know this doesn't answer the OPs question but may help with what to use as a replacement for Propane.

Has anyone actually removed the propane tank? It looks like I will need to drill out some rivets in the door flange and remove the door from the compartment to get enough space to slide tank out. From the bottom looks harder with a lot of square frame supports shared with the fuel tank.
