We left San Jose today, headed out until May. We made it to Morro Bay. 101 had a sign that said I5 is closed at Grapevine and all I5 traffic should take 101 South to LA. Should be into Quartszite middle of next week. I am looking forward to some 70 degree weather. It was 28 this morning in San Jose.

Great suggestion Sacs, we have never been there before and could use the extra help too. I will try and get the directions that were posted earlier and copy them toward the end too so we know where everyone will be, after all its a big desert out there and a lot of rigs. Unless Luke posts some new ones with the co-ordinates.
Once Cheri and I get there I will try and park so the back of the toy hauler is facing the road and then I can hang a IRV2 banner on the tail gate so everyone can see it and we will start our big wagon circle.

Has anyone determined if we are going to be in the same area as last year? I plan on arriving the 20th, as I have company leaving that morning and I and only 2 1/2 hrs. away.

Hi all, when Mic & rick and I first talked about going back to Q in 09 we thought that we would go back to the same spot as 08. So, Sharon and I will be there no later than the 15th. We will have a sign made and will be on line and post GPS settings as soon as we pull in.

We will be coming on the 17th and look forward to meeting friends both old and new. I checked the BLM site and here are the direction they gave for the La Posa LVTA.
DIRECTIONS TO SITE OR BEST ACCESS POINT: Exit Interstate 10 at the city of Quartzsite, AZ. Take highway 95 south to the four campgrounds. The campground entrances are approximately 2 miles south of town.
They also state there is a requirement for a permit I think I read that a 14 day permit cost 40.00 did I get that right.
I am not sure about the GPS cordinates someone posted earlier. Ehen I use them on Google maps they seem to point to a place more than 2 miles south of the town of Quartsite.

The Las Posas camp ground is about 2 miles south of town, on the left....as I remember, the cost was about $14 for the permit. There are many campgrounds around QZ...but the one we stayed at least year, and as I understand the postings, where everyone is planning on staying this year, is Las Posas South, about 2 miles or so, on the left as you go south on 95.
