We Are Here ...

We are here, currently parked behind the iRV2 Monaco location. Currently there are a few “non-Monaco” rigs in the area, but for the most part, it is still pretty open. Thought I’d send a couple of pics.

See you soon ...

Well it looks like we won't be able to make it this year after all. Just signed the papers to sell our home so will be busy packing and throwing out all the stuff we have accumulated over the past 36 years.

It appears the BLM site is closed now, is there still a requirement for a pass? Is the entrance building open where you can buy a pass there? Last time there was a Govt Shutdown and you could not get a pass. I wanted to pick one up online but the website is non-responsive - Does anyone have any information on the Pass situation?

Thanks in advance - Brian

Also, I wanted to link up with some folks again for some trail running, had a great time last year and hoping to find some more folks who want to go out and run the canyons and trails. Have a rzr to break in, so if anyone is interested, will be up there Thurs for 10 days and have a pretty good list of the trails around the area and difficulty. We look forward to meeting new folks and seeing our newer "old" friends.

I am hoping to be able to attend for the first time this year. I am staying in Yuma and want to come visit Thursday or Friday Jan 16 or 17, staying thru Sunday night. Just me traveling with my dog. I am also interested in info about the pass requirements to camp this year. Thanks

The coordinates are for the same location as the last several years.

On highway US 95 a little over 3 miles south of I-10 and the "big tent" the road widens to include a left turn lane.

Turn east into La Posa South (South is the key word here)

You will see the pay shack and the tilty solar panels.

After the shack proceed about a half mile on the sort of paved road

There may be a sign or just notice Monaco coaches circled up a couple hundred feet south of the road.

If you notice a small cinder block bathroom close to the south side of the road you probably went to far.

If you paste those coordinates into google maps on your phone it will take you right there!

The pass is $40 for 2 weeks, and includes access to trash bins, dump stations and fresh water which is about 1 mile from the entrance.
