Question: '02 Windsor Ac/Heater Control Panel

What source did Monaco use? I know it's Ford but nothing I have found is exactly correct.

Front face is easy. but.... How the controls are mounted onto the panel somehow is a rare bird. What I can find in '99 thru 2005 trucks use different switches or have extra stuff so the mounting is different.

Hoping someone has located the correct vehicle Monaco sourced for this application. Specially made? I have my doubts; but could be.

I am making a custom frame and due to space I need to cut the mounting "ears" off. Just hate cutting the original if I can source one from a auto wrecking yard.

Thanks for reading!

Glenn

You can buy an exact match here but don't faint at the prices. Or you can buy one very similar without those ears here.

Wow! Glad I was sitting down. They sure like those don't they; at 800.00.

Went shopping at the wreckers and found a close replacement. (F87H-19E764-A 95-03 Explorer Ranger) Just have to adapt the illumination from direct bulb holders to a plug that feeds both bulbs.

Now I can cut off the mounting ears so it will fit the "dash" opening. Here's my new concept for my switches and AC/Heater panel WITH room for a new double din Navigation Stereo.

Did you check the parts list from the other Monaco forum? Northwest Rv Salvage?

Thank you for taking the time to locate, take pictures and post! That's a great one! Used they go for 250... I wonder if they fail often? Mines good and I have faith the one I found does too.

Actually it looks exactly the same as to one my coach came with (first two pics). Mine is perfect and works fine which is why I don't want to destroy by it cutting off the mounting tabs. The one I found is "so so" visually but will work till I find a better one. At a cost of $25.00 they are cheap enough....

The one I found from the Ford Ranger might end up being nicer. It uses a illumination which also lights up the knob pointers.

Is there a part number for the one you have? Mine didn't have a oem number.

I still wonder if Monaco had these made especially for them or sourced them. If anyone knows please let me know.

Thanks! I didn't check those. VisoneRV had one but what I needed was one I could cut up to fit the new "dash" I am building. That way I still have the original parts intact.

Good suggestion! I think I might post there if doing a search doesn't provide where they sourced to original panel. I am mostly sure Monaco would have found what they needed and just bought those instead of having them specifically built.

Thanks for the great info!!

Glenn

PS The red switch's panel pictured in my second post above I bought for the plate which will hold the original Monaco switches. I won't be using the cheap red switches.

Check Ford PU controls right up to a F550 years m99-04 or thereabouts, 92 and up are similar. You just have to find a wrecking yard that hasn't cleaned out the yard for a while. Rural, small town yards are a good bet. Maybe sitting in a farmyard, just keep your eyes open for one. I had to do that for a speedometer on a 99 Class A. Good luck

Yes, It looks like those would work also. The position switch is "clocked" differently on the back side but the connection plugs look the same. Much better option none the less.

Thanks for the input!
