Yes I do agree. Have to be prepared to spend 800k+ to get with the folks that really start focusing on quality.

How some members can complete this job in 3hrs is beyond me! Hell, I probably spent 1/2 hr just getting all those screws out of the piano hinge!
Learned something doing this project. The slide rollers under the foot of the bed (the one's chewing up the plywood), AND the rear most slide box roller, at the rear of this slide ( the one you can only get at from outside, under the bottom slide seal), raise the rollers, by turning the bolt Counterclockwise!
Couple of years ago I made an adjustment on this roller by turning the adjustment bolt clockwise, thinking I was raising the slide. Now I know, I was lowering it even more !!!!
One note for anyone considering making this repair, that hasn't already.

Before putting my bed box back in place and attaching to the slide, I raised the rollers at the foot of the bed a fair bit. The whole assembly is like a large 'L' shape. I discovered the first time I ran the slide back out, the inner seal at the top was compressed tight to the wall. At the bottom, it wasn't touching the wall. What I had done by raising the rollers too high at the foot of the bed, was leaned the entire 'L' assembly back!
I know it looks better with the bottom of the bed box 1/2" above the carpet, and doesn't leave drag marks on the carpet, but it screws the whole allignment of the slide.
I was lucky I could get a socket on the roller adjusters from the end of the bed! I was not looking forward to tearing the whole thing apart again!!

I have a 1999 Monaco Diplomat 38’ and am wondering the best way to attach an air brake line to the rear of my coach. My tow vehicle is already set up for air braking, I just need a place to connect it to the rv’s Brake system. Where do I tap in?

Rear brake chamber service line. I used right side to keep airline away from exhaust. Bought kit from Roadmaster, came with everything needed and easy directions to follow. 2001 Diplomat. Good luck, Don

Couple more minor upgrades. I think I forgot to post these last fall.

While in Shipshewana last spring at the 419th Maintenance Session I picked up a Lambright RV Theater Reclining sofa. Finally got around to making an adapter bracket that used the existing floor bolts so no new holes in the slide floor. Perfect fit. Clears the window valence on side and back by about 1". Same for the counter by the table.

Also added a 120v outlet behind the sofa for the recliner and one under the table for my laptop.

While I was at it I added a leather steering wheel cover. Got a few wrinkles in it'. Perhaps it will shrink some.

Fiberglass crack under slide

I know I read somewhere on here about the exterior fiberglass crack under bed slide. I tried searching, with no luck.
There was someone who put a vent cover over it to cover it, as it has been fixed twice and still cracked.
just looking for the thread for more info

thanks

Time for another upgrade. While at QZ this year I picked up four Battleborn 100ah batteries and on return home two Odyssey Extreme AGM 100ah (1125 CCA) start batteries.

Followed Harrys (happycars) lead and installed a disconnect relay for the BIRD to be able to disable it when dry camping. The higher voltage of the LifeP04 keeps the Big Boy energized all the time.

After seeing you in QZ, I knew it was a matter of time.

Looks good. You're getting that coach set up pretty nice.

They are pretty.

To support the lithium's I have changed the ME2012-20b Inverter/Charger control board from original version 3.6 to MAG-TCB-ME2012 version 5.6.

I had previously upgraded the ME-RC to the ME-ARC50 version 4.0, upgraded the ME-AGS to a newer version and added the ME-BMK.

The good news is now all seems to work as planned. Constant Current / Constant Voltage (103a / 14.3v) until bats are mostly full. AGS kicks on at 20% SOC and off at 80% SOC. With any luck the solar takes them up the last 20%. But if it doesn't no harm is done. During the summer I may lower the threshold to about 70%.

Any concern about them not being in a heated compartment? I've read that they have to be protected from freezing temps.

Hi John,

I'm not too concerned about it. I'm a fair weather camper anyway and store the coach indoors.

According to their tech support the BMS will stop accepting recharge at 27 degrees and stop discharging at -4 degrees. If the temps drop below these no damage occurs due to the BMS protection. Keep in mind these are internal battery temps at the BMS and inside the cargo bay so outside temps may be somewhat lower.

I believe Battleborn has hinted at coming out with a thermonstatically controlled heating pad or blanket system. I'll probably add that if and when they do.
