Also looking for carpet. Found something new (to me anyway). Carpet backed with felt. Supposedly never needs stretching. Added insulation and sound deadening. Very pliable and conforms to corners well.
Anyone use this?

Mike I used a anti mold black padding under the new carpet. I can send pics. Also I would not stretch your carpet day with a carpet kick. The coach moves to much if it’s tight, the carpet may pull apart. I made sure it was flat and not sloppy. Then stapled back down. Working from rear wall to front hall.

10boomer,
I'll be using Mohawk "air.0" carpeting. Has 3/8" felt bonded on the back of the carpet and requires no stretching at all. Installation is with Mohawks double stick tape on the floor along the perimeter ( along with some staples in strategic areas like corners and the hallway entry).
Engine cover will have a brush on glue specifically made for air.0 felt backed carpet.

Sweet, don’t forget to check all the cracks and seam from engine area to bedroom. I just re-did the closet wall bottom to engine area.

I did have some soot along the back of the closet. So today I filled the gaps with black foam.
Monaco had covered these gaps with pieces of carpet covered wood. Now that the gaps are filled I think I'll finish it off this time with cherry trim to match the rest of the closet.
I also sealed around the engine cover to floor with black silicone.
I found what looks like a mouse nest in the floor channel that has the wiring for the slide. This is covered by a metal strip but open on one end. I think I'll seal it off with foam as well.

When I removed the bedroom floor heat register I found it almost completely filled with sawdust. Always wondered why we didn't get much heat from it.
You'd think Monaco would have clean it up but I'm not surprised after seeing the woodwork that was covered up by plywood veneer.

Finally decided to pull the trigger and replace tile and carpet in front of coach. We like the tile in the bathroom/toilet room, so that's not getting touched. The bedroom carpet will be replaced with carpet possibly this spring. It's in good shape, so no rush.

Mike, when redoing bed box rails with taller and longer aluminum, be sure to remove carpet and mount rails directly on the slide floor, using through the floor elevator bolts.

Thanks for the advice Harry. The original screws in the aluminum angle to the floor were tight but I'm sure the elevator bolts are a better idea.
I plan on reassembling the repaired bed box with the carpet removed to verify fit. Then remove it again for the installation of the carpet.

Hey Jarvis3355, What LED lights with remotes did you use? I'm too short for the ceiling lights in our camper, and remote controller switches seem to be the ticket.
Any recommendations?

10boomer,
Elevator bolts are zinc plated but I will put a little dab of silicone to seal when I install them.
Went looking for stainless sheet metal at the local supplier. Found some left overs at a reasonable price. 16 gauge - 6" x 32". Thicker than I needed but the added thickness won't hurt.
