Isn’t getting that tile the most fun you’ve had in a long time[emoji23]. Did mine last year. Soooo painful. That glue they used or remarkable.

Went looking for stainless sheet metal at the local supplier. Found some left overs at a reasonable price. 16 gauge - 6" x 32". Thicker than I needed but the added thickness won't hurt.

Understand it will match the bottom of slide. That’s it.

yes it was. They used white thin set. I used a chipping hammer to remove most of the tile and some of the thinset. I used a grinder to get the rest of it off.

The tile up front (under the front center), was installed on a sheet of thin plywood then screwed down. That part was relatively easy. Under the slides was really tough and very slow.

We're going with engineered wood to replace it. Have had it in several homes over the years and we do like it.

I recently replaced all of my carpeting with hand scraped engineered hardwood flooring. With the hand scraped, you can easily repair any nicks, etc. and it blends in. We glued the flooring down. One thing I learned in doing this is that because of the confined space, it is much easier to back butter each piece rather than spread the glue across the floor.

I'm doing the exact same thing. I talked to Ernie Ekberg (the flooring guy) from TX and followed his advise, both in procedure and product. I'm going with the hand scraped as well. We're in the dry climate here and spreading the glue down on the plywood sub floor is not practical as it dries too fast and your space is very limited. I'm buttering each piece as I go. It's looking pretty good but it's making the entrance look dated now. That project is next but I'm humbled by some of the members here that have done incredibly good looking stairs, not to mention other improvements made on these coaches.

Making some headway. Filled the grooves in the bed box with Minwax Two Part Hi Performance Wood Filler (think Bondo). Then added the 16 gauge stainless steel plates.

Replaced the defective wood components in the bed box. I'm still flabbergasted at the workmanship hidden under the 5mm cherry laminate.

Also moved the rollers 3/4" closer to the outer edges of the bed box. If you look at the first image in the previous post you can see the inside roller ran off the end of the plywood when the slide was in.

Also put the 1/2" plywood spacers under the floor slides as suggested by several folks here.

Did you ever have a chance to take some pictures of that slick slide TV mount?

More headway. Finished the aluminum angle. 3/16" x 2" x 42" 6061 T6 aluminum angle and 2 3/4" x 5/16" elevator bolts.

I was given the aluminum by a fellow Monaco owner at Quartzsite last month.
I believe he said he decided not to do his or that it wasn't needed.

Now waiting on carpet.

Ernie is the guru when it comes to flooring. I sought his advise when I did mine.

Glad you could use my "spare" metal, Mike. Mine seemed to be secure as could be so elected to only repair the gouges in the plywood and install metal plates.

Yes Ernie is talented and very helpful. He will share his 'trick' to putting down flooring.

I've finished up my new floors. We decided not to do wood on the slide out and will replace the carpet along with the bedroom carpet later this year. The carpet in pretty good condition so it's moves down the priority list.
