Quirky roof top A/C

I have a 2009 Safari Simba with 2 Carrier roof units. The rear AC works when plugged into 20-30AMPS (at my house)and when the generator (50AMPS) is running. The front unit will only run when plugged into house and NOT with generator running. I do not have the ability to plug my shore cord into a dedicated 50 AMP line here.

Do you have an EMS (energy management system). This does load shed but usually it will let everything run with the generator.

If you have an EMS and run the generator what does the load sensor say, it should switch to generator, maybe if it is not sensing generator it assumes it is just plugged in and sheds that load.

Not sure what is going on, maybe others will jump in.

I do have an EMS and it switches to generator. I believe I also experienced a few outlets that didn't work on generator either, so I will confirm that and check the 2 breakers on the generator. I am thinking there is a breaker, fuse, or connection issue somewhere.

That sounds like you are on the right track. A weak or bad breaker would do this, but also check your transfer switch connections while there. You could have a loose generator feed wire.

One of the breakers was tripped. Running fine right now. Thanks I never connected the malfunctioning outlets to the AC. The EMS had lit up everything including the front AC, so I just assumed.... I knew the breakers were there...but ...I must have been too hot!
