rear camera out 03 Executive

2003 Executive. I have had this coach for 5 years and prior to my ownership the rear color camera was replace with one that had to be rigged up. The 8 pin connector still comes to the rear camera housing but after the male plug the wire was spliced. Any suggestions on how to get the correct camera for this coach? The rigged up one has now failed. The screen started flashing some time ago and I recently replaced the head unit with an Alpine ILX-F259. Camera flashed occasionally but has now stopped all together. Other black & white cameras are still working
Thanks!

Generally speaking most any 12v camera that fits will work.

Wiring, again generally, will be:

Black = ground.
Red = positive.
Yellow = Video
White = Sound

You can try checking the splice you mentioned for connectivity but it is probably the camera.

One resource that you might not have thought of... your local auto stereo shop. A lot of cars come with low-end radios, and most of the aftermarket Kenwoods / Alpines / Pioneers / Sonys / etc have backup camera screen functionality... so the shops stock generic cameras and the cabling to run them up to the dash unit.

So give a local one a call and ask... all it costs is the phone call...

I did a radio swap on two prior cars. I got the replacement units from
www.Crutchfield.com - on both occasions I found that they have good stuff and EXCELLENT both pre-sale and post-sale support.

Check the power at the rear connector.

Our 2005 Signature has a Sony rear camera that was fed 8V from the Sony Aladdin monitor in the dash.

My screen started flashing and then quit, I removed inspection cover on top of dash, drivers side, and found cable had come loose, you might double check connections.
