Steve it is basically a window type unit like one would put in a house. So if you can find a company that can rebuild window units, they should be able to do the job for you. Problem is the tubes are so small it is difficult to put ports in them in order to recharge the system. Once those are in, it can be recharged if that is your problem.

I have only heard of one place that did this type work on an RV, and that was in north Alabama.

Add on service valve come in many sizes, If it's has a leak and lossed freon the leak will need to be repaired first. Smaller tubbing you can install a "T" in the line and install a service valve at that point. Finding someone who is willing to get on the roof and carrie all those tools up on top may be harderto do.

If the unit is very old it's better to replace the whole unit to avoid being nickle and dimed to death by repairs.

A/C reply

Thanks to all that answered--The 2 units have been taken off already-they started with the heat pumps kicking out and then the A/C burned up the compassor- bought new compassors and still had problems so I replaced with 2 differant dometics at $450 a piece with no heat pumps!!!! I received a great price but they sit higher and I was just wondering if I could get the first ones rebuilt????? would be nice to have the heat pumps back if possible.
