Refrig not working

As I stated in another post,I got this 2005 Monaco Monark last Thursday.
Using a adaptor I got the unit plugged into a 15,amp outlet today. I have hired an electrician to to wire me permanent 30 amp outlet to hook up the rv. But that
Will not happen for a few days.
My issue is the refrigerator will not run on the electric setting. Switched to lp and the freezer started to get cold, but not the lower refrigerator,
There is electricity to the refrigerator as the light comes on when the door is opened Only running the frig, not the ac o anything else. info would be appreciated.

The light inside the refrigerator is probably 12 volt. Does your RV require 30 amp or 50 amp?

You may have a couple problems.
1. The electrical element is bad.
2. The control board is bad.

We need more info as to the brand and model of the refer to go much further.

Mine did the same thing in a 2004 Itasca Meridian. Mine actually popped the GFCI wherever it was connected in the house. IF it is a Norcold 1200..... there is a black plastic cover on bottom left of fridge. You access it thru exterior door on outside of coach. Pull the cover (8 by 4 inches)off. You can check the two fuses. If they are good, you will probably need a new board. It could also be one of the two heater elements in the exhaust stack. They should be about 60 ohms resistance I believe. You can get the part number for the board right off of the board. Google it for a source. I got mine from Dinosaur electronics in Oregon for about 180. Came with a two or three year guarantee.

Does the frig have a 120v plug in in the access compartment? If so unplug it and plug it into your extension cord. 15 amps isn't enough for most coaches. My power ems won't even let it connect on 15 amps. If the frig works when plugged directly into the extension cord youve found your problem.

I agree with Wes. Before you go looking for expensive parts to replace make sure you are getting power 110v to the refrigerator.

Check the "Technical Blog" here if it's a Norcold: http://thenorcoldguy.com/ nice set of diagnostic posts worth looking at.

After we purchased our 2004 Monaco Windsor, we found out that the previous owners replaced the LP/electric fridge with a residential fridge. We did some digging on what it would take to get an LP/electric fridge back in there... wow they are expensive.

I guess you are aware that it takes about 24 hours to get cold. It's not going to happen in a couple of hours or so.

Refit Update

Yesterday around 6:00pm. I turned the lp off and set the refrigerator to
Ac shore power. This morning it was cold inside. I think I was in to big a hurry for the refrigerator to get cool.
