Yeah, he was super helpful with me. The AL crossbar wouldn't work with my fridge, so he made me three iterations of a direct-mount plate to get it to work with my fridge. I really wanted to love the fridge fixer, but in the end one of my knucklehead kids yanked on the door till the fridge fixer broke.
I think his design is almost ideal. Super-simple and easy to lock and unlock with one finger. Very thoughtfully designed to lock and access the fridge without aggravation.
The problem for me is that the assembly sticks out past the front of the fridge doors and is about 4" wide. This can get in the way when accessing the freezer. Probably not much of an issue for most folks, but for me it's a big deal because the left door hits cabinetry and won't open past 90 degrees. This means that the ice bin needs to come out the center of the opening, and that's where the fridge fixer lives.
Other than this issue, I absolutely love the fridge fixer.
Cheers,
Walter
