Remote start for generator

This is an upgrade I would like to make to my 06 Beaver. Is it possible to add a generator start switch next to the bed? I have a speaker on and off switch there now that would be a good location. Never have nor will I ever use that speaker switch.

Any idea how one could retrofit and wire a switch for that purpose. I know some coaches have a generator switch there for those times when you want to fire up the power before you get up.

Thanks for your input everyone.

Steve

My Dynastys remote start for the gen is under the cabinet be the bed. The wires go toward the upper cabinets and probably down to the closet and over to the Trace panel, but I'm guessing.. These older Monacos had gobs of redundant wiring so you could turn things on from both ends of the coach. I have never used the bedroom switch. I've never had a need to start the gen from the bed. The house batteries always keep us warm all night ( aqua hot ) when boondocking. Seems like a lot of trouble to retrofit for little use, jmo...

I would say it is possible, need to get a wiring diagram to determine the best way to do this.

I have a have 5 ways to start the generator. I have

Switch on Generator
Switch on Dash, center near HVAC controls
Trace Inverter Panel
Bedroom under the cabinet.
Onan EC30W auto generator start

I've used them all.

If you have a generator start on the dash it might be easier to piggy back off of that switch and run wires back to your bedroom. It would probably be easier to get an SO type wire with the right size and number of conductors and try to get it down the center rails of the coach and then up into the bedroom slide.

Shouldn't be hard to do. Like Jim, we have lots of different switches to start the generator in our coach--on the generator, on the driver's side panel, the status panel over the door, the inverter remote panel and by the bed.

I had my coach for a year until I saw my generator switch under the bed room
cabinet. In the winter when I'm skiing I use it before I get up in the morning.
By the time I'm dressed the generator has been running long enough that I can
turn on 2 electric heaters and turn the furnace on to warm the rooms up. The
rest of the year I never use the switch as I don't even use the generator.
I put 12 volt fans under the cabinets and on the drivers side there were wires
under the false bottom of the cabinet. I don't know what they were meant for
but you might have extra wires there that you might use.
