Removing Microwave

I have a 2005 HR Scepter, trying to replace Microwave, there is a face board over the Micro, attached from behind the board unable to remove board without cutting to get to the top of Micro, Can,t figure out how to remove Micro, has anyone removed the unit and knows the secret.

It would help to know the microwave brand. If it's like our 05 Monaco with the Sharp micro, it also has a wooden face over the top of the unit. To remove it you have to take out the filter screens on the bottom which will allow access to two long mounting bolts. Before you remove them make sure there are no other screws holding the unit to the adjacent woodwork. Ours had two smaller screws barely visible. Try sliding a thin piece of material along the sides and across the top to verify. They are very heavy and awkward, put a large box on the counter to support it. The front will drop down then you must lift the rear off the mounting plate. Good luck.

Determined that Monaco glued the face board to backing strip, drilled. 3/4" hole on the face board and able to use a pull ram to removed to the face board, thinking of reusing the board, by plugging the hole with a metal cap. Monaco was not thinking about having owners replace the Micro.

On our 04 diplomat the board you are talking about was just a pressed in place between the top of the micro and the ceiling, pry it out and you will probably find 2 bolts and brackets behind it, at least mine did.

The Micro is a Sharp, will a Samsung fit, looks like the metal case around the Micro is Sharp specific.

I have had our sharp carousel combination convection microwave out twice in the past year, first time was the dreded 59 second shut off, easy fix do it yourself for about 30 bucks, last time the microwave quit heating, removed and took it in, found that the magnetron tube was shot, repair guy said he sees a lot of these on m/h that the people run the microwave off the inverter, anyway even that was a cheap fix at $145.00 a lot cheaper that buying a new one, yah you can measure the outside dimensions and find one that will fit in the cavity that the sharp fits in.

I am experiencing the same 59 sec delay, what is the fix and part required?

You will need a damper motor and micro switch. Go to sears parts direct and key in your model number and the pull up the schematic you will see it listed next to the magnetron tube ( which it cools) I don't have the exact part numbers as sometimes they are superseeded, total parts are less then 40 bucks and sears ships really fast, hope this helps.

Had the same problem. On mine I had to remove about 25 staples from the cabinet over the top of the microwave. Needless to say I used wood screws when i put it back in.

The parts on that link will fix your microwave.

Same for my 06 Diplomat, and yes the two side screws going into the cabinet sides were hard to find.
