replace front brakes on diesel pusher

I purchased a 2005 Holiday Rambler Navigator this fall.
The front brakes are glazed over due to the previous owner not knowing how to use the jake brake.
He rode the brake pedal down the smokey mountains!

I do brakes on cars all the time, how difficult is it to change the pads and rotors on the DP?
I have a multiplier to remove the lug nuts, lots of air tools and a couple of 20 ton jacks.

Do you know the manufacture of the brakes? Do the rotors bolt to the front hub or are the a one piece hub rotor? It is an easy job with the correct tools most of which are 3/4" drive. Just be sure to inspect the wheel bearings and races from any damage if the hub has to be removed. You will also need help removing the caliper from the rotor being in a confined space you have no leverage to lift the heavy caliper casting.

There are several youtube videos about the process. For my application I have the Meritor brand of disc brakes and downloaded the video for service process and even information about an update for my disc brakes. Went online and downloaded a parts breakdown so I would know the part numbers and correct assembly of the calipers. If you have Meritor also I would share some of my information if you need it.

I know the Bendix pads can be replaced without removing the caliper. But the wheel needs to come off.

If you find you have Haldex calipers pads are very easy to change out. Just tighten pads to rotor and back off 1/4 turn with metric wrench. If repack ingredients front hubs you will need a helper to handle wt of the caliper and maybe the rotor. Dave

I haven't tackled the job yet because I wanted a rough idea how hard it would be before I started taking things apart.

Snowmobile season has started so I may not get to it for a little while.
