Replace Nason Switch.
I am sure this is covered somewhere in this Forum but I am not very proficient at using the search engine ( search for" replace Nason" switch and get 110+ pages of hits????). Any how I think I need to replace my Nason switch. My air brake warning (ding, ding, ding) often (usually) continues after I push in the air release button and put the vehicle into gear, or I can set still and keep pushing the switch on and off until it goes off. It has always gone off after a few
seconds/minutes after I start moving.
I have the Nason pn (SM-1C-66R/WP28) from another recent post. I would appreciate some guidance on how to replace. I am assuming that I have to loosen and lift off the instrument panel (next to driver) to change the switch. Any tricks or problems I should be aware of before I jump into this?
Thanks In Advance
Bob

No hidden traps Very easy repair. Just be careful when moving wires around.
Find the article on IRV2 written bt Bob Nodine. This info will give you all the information you need to trouble shoot and to replace. I had to replace mine about a year ago. Worked out great

Well that was interesting. But I really don't want to repair my switch, I just want to install a new one. So I lift off the complete panel to access the Nason switch then replace it being careful with the wires? Correct???
Thx
Bob

Dac81, I have found on mine if I let air pressure build to max (120#'s) my switch works perfect. If I forget and push the knob with 60 to 80 lbs. it will do as yours is now.
Good luck
Dave

Allowing the system to build up to maximum air pressure does not seem to help. Thanks for the suggestion.

FL420, while searching for the article by Bob Nodine I found this post with a picture of the Nason switch and panel removed. I found it informative and thought it might be useful to you.

in the process of doing mine now.. And even with 120Plus PSI, it would still do it on mine.
