Replacement Switch
Anyone have a source for replacement switches?
I need the LP switch for the water heater,
the ignition light in mine is burned out.

I'd take a photo of the switch then use Google Image search to try to find a matching switch. Ebay and Amazon both have many switches that would probably be a replacement.

If you remove it and look on the back side you may find a mfr and part number. I got a matching switch from Allied Electronics.

I don't know how handy you are but what I did to my 12v switches is replaced bulb with a led diode. If you remove the switch from wall and disconnect power than using a small knife and pry rocker out from side's (hinge part) then you can see how bulb is wired. I ordered 12v diodes red from eBay very cheep and replaced all my 12v rocker bulbs. Switches no longer get hot. Remember diode has a + and - so test polarity before installing. Or you may have to do it all over again. Nice little DIY mod.

I will add I found a product called deoxit. It comes in a 5% or 100% concentration. I’ve used it on 5 switches that had issues. All 5 are now functioning like new. I sprayed the switch case and tried to get it inside the switch. Then work the switch and let it sit. Repeat once more the next day and poof. Good as new.

The OP had a switch that the light was no longer lit. Does deoxit repair or replace a bad light?

Your second sentence seems a little sarcastic. Jeff just missed that the original poster had a defective lamp and not a defective switch. We have also had good results with electrical contact cleaner on intermittent switches so it does not hurt to pass that information along to other readers. I have used a pin vise with a small drill bit to make a hole in the switch case so we could spray the contact cleaner inside the switch.
