Adam, what engine is in the Dynasty? If it is the Cummins ISL 370 or the ISL 400 then it has the engine brake. If it has the ISC 8.3 350 hp then it has an exhaust brake. Is it s 2001 or a 2002 model. Can't be both.

When you apply the brake and are slowing down, does it make that "bra-a-a-a-a-ap" sound like a semi truck makes when it is going down a hill? If so, it's an engine compression brake. If it just downshifts the engine and the engine revs without making that sound, then it's probably an exhaust brake.
Do you have a high/low or high/med/low switch? Then it's probably an engine brake. If it's just an on/off switch, it's probably an exhaust brake.

My Detroit has a separate pedal on the floor to the left of the steering column and is not programmed to turn on when you let up on the GO pedal. I can get the setup changed to make it work like yours.

I like your set-up. I do not have the extra pedal. Want to trade?

I love your bra-a-a-a-a-ap. I can almost hear it.

HUUURRRAAA. That's what I talking about. Love the wrinkle in that rear slick. Looks as the left front is clear. And all 4 ports wide open.
Thanks for the picture

To take the thread back, A Jacobs engine brake is added to the top of the engine between the valve stems and the rockers arms. When the power switch is on, the compression brake will activate when the throttle is back all the way and the the brake is depressed with the transmission holding back. This accomplished by closing the exhaust valves in the engine.
A Pac brake is a big quarter turn valve mounted directly at the exit of the turbocharger exhaust side. When power is on the valve closes when the throttle is all the way back and the foot brake is depressed. In my 2005 HR the engine brake switch also turns off the cruise control which is an awful thing to do.
Jacobs brakes can split the braking by 2 cylinders, 4 or all six. The pacbrake can be broken into two, half closed or fully closed. Mine is either on or off and I hate it.

Larry, don't believe the Cummins can operate in a 2 cylinder configuration. I know the Detroit can't. I think we all know the difference between them and how they work. Adams question was what he had on his and with that model MH it is dependent on which year and engine option and the question Vettehead had was about his switch configuration.

There are others just as good I know. Look for what ever you budget will allow, and don't forget to check with the BOH about the color of curtains.
Engines are important, so don't settle for one with is under rated in HP. The more HP won't burn that much more fuel, you won't be sorry when you get to the mountain's. Being a OLE Car Nut, I am sure you know what I mean

That might depend on your engine and trans combo. The Magna we're about to take delivery of has a three position switch as well as the on/off one. And for normal driving the low position seemed to be as good as on with the ISC which only had off and on.

Looks like my '67 Camaro! In street trim, street tires and through the mufflers it would pull the tires on 1st to 2nd. Engine was from a 66 Chevell and had the rock crusher 4 speed behind it. NHRA factored to 450 HP, 396 with hyd lifters and 7,000 rpm red line. Made a great car for getting on the freeway quickly but it was a good thing gas was cheap back then
