My wife and I are full timers. We have lived in our 2006 Monaco Camelot for several years and would like to change out the furniture. Mainly replacing the couch with new recliner type unit. My question is what about the slide hieght. I mean the couch is designed to be installed on the slide and hangs over in the front to give the appearance the its on the floor. How will this effect the recliner installation.

I just did this. I originally paid the place I bought the chairs to install them, and they totally blew it. They built a steel frame and slapped a piece of particle board on it and it looked terrible (and raised it about an inch). After my wife broke a toe on it, I ripped it out and did it myself - inspired by a thread here. I used melamine board, 4 rollers and sized it exactly to support the footprint of the chairs, then trimmed it out. Here is the old POS and the new. It's basically invisible unless you get down to look.

end result and I don't know why the picture is upside down. I am pleased as the extra height is gone and the operation is flawless. When the slides are in the rollers dent the carpet but I can live with that. Total cost price of rollers and materials were in house.

I extended the slideout platform by @ 5" when I was installing new flooring. This is what we bought and are very happy with them.

If you don't want to extend the sideout, they also have rollers that you can add to the seat,

I considered the idea of wheels on the chairs...but never pursued. I assumed someone would have thought of that

I was size challenged too, when I saw my perfect fit chairs on sale at camping world I jumped..would have liked heated I guess but the price was too attractive. They switched brands and I got these for about half.
