Replacing tub faucet on '02 Windsor

I have to replace the tub faucet on my 2002 Windsor 40PBT. Right now it looks like an near-impossible job!

The only access is through the door to the tank bay, then up through the floor under the tub/shower enclosure. A while back one of the water pipe fittings to the faucet broke and I cut a hole through the floor to get one hand up in there to unscrew the fitting from the faucet and pull the tubing down far enough to replace the fitting. The only way I can see is to try to enlarge the hole to get better access. It sounds simple, but believe me, it's NOT!

This is one of those cases where the factory built the coach without any thought as to how someone could replace that faucet if it became necessary!

If anyone with this coach has done it and can offer any suggestions, I would certainly appreciate it!

Joe,

Are you specifically asking about the faucet in the shower?

It is located on the angle between the outside wall and the inside wall in my shower and I believe the access to it is behind the mirror on the kitchen wall next to the two door pantry. You can see the mirror I am talking about in the second photo.

I have never had to get at it so I am just guessing at this point. Maybe someone with the PBT floor-plan will chime in.

Guess mine is different. It mounts to the top of the tub.

Gotta go by groceries. I'll check back on this later today. Thanks!

Technically I don't have a tub-shower. There is a shallow pan at the bottom where 3-4 inches of water can be accumulated.

I have made some edits with addition's to my initial post.

Sorry, My 02 Windsor has the shower, not a tub.

I pulled the panel off in front of the shower and
tried to reach in where the valves were. Lots of very sharp
fiberglass pieces on the bottom of the shower mold.

I found I could take the valves apart from the top down
and get a repair kit for it.
Had to replace the bathroom and the kitchen faucets though.

I checked the floor plan of your coach in the brochure. If you can look on the side of the slide when it is partially out you can probably see the access panel ( I can see mine) that is removable. In my case it is a piece of mirror, don't know how it is held in, probably velcro. Should be able to reach the shower valve by taking the panel and when the slide is still in.

Jim, I think you have one like Richard where the shower valves are mounted up on the side wall. Mine is a tub/shower and the faucet is mounted to the top of the tub.

Anyway, I finally got the faucet replaced yesterday. I had just about decided it was impossible, but finally got my arm up through a hole through the top of the tank bay ceiling. It was tough, but persistence paid off! I am going to have to replace both of the fittings on the PEX tubing that screw on to the bottom of the faucet. They have right-angle fittings and the PEX is so stiff that working with one hand I can't get them in the right position to screw on the faucet. I will replace them with straight connectors which will make it simple.

Our coach is a Beaver Monterey, set up with the tub/shower just like yours. We have the same problem trying to replace the faucet in the tub and haven't been able to figure it out. Took apart the service bay and still couldn't do it. How about we bring our coach to you and you show us how. lol That was just another Monaco special feature.
