Replacing Weldex With RVS Rear View Camera
'05 Monaco Knight -- Current Weldex has 4-pin connectors, RVS-770613 is 5-pin.
1) How hard is it to remove and replace the Waldex cable with the RVS cable?
2) Is it better to splice 5-pin RVS connectors onto the existing Waldex cable?
3) Anyone have a wiring diagram for the 4-pin Waldex connectors?

I'm not familiar with the RVS camera, but I replaced our Weldex WDD-7500C camera.
Camera wiring color code:
Yellow= video
Red= +12v
White= audio
Black= ground

Also, there is a higher resolution Weldex model available if that is what you are looking for.
Attached is the Weldex Spec sheet.

Thanks guys! We planned to be full-timing by now, but my cancer (in remission) makes me have to continue working 2 more years for the group health ins. That's alright... we're taking care of all the little things we want to do to prepare the rig for full-timing. Like upgrading the rear-view camera, adding solar, etc.
Blessings to the 2 of you as well!

I changed out the Sony BU camera and monitor for the RVS, last year. It would have been nice to be able to use the existing cable, and I explored that idea, but decided to just run the new cable, and be done with it. The new cable was more than long enough for my 36' coach. I got on a creeper, and with a bundle of nylon zip-ties, routed the new cable through the frame undercarriage, following existing factory wiring. It took and hour or so, but it wasn't bad. But I have spent a fair amount of time over the years, on the creeper, inspecting. cleaning & painting rust, greasing fittings, and doing other maintenance under my motorhome, so I am already use to it. This was just another thing.
It was a good fit height and width, but the original mounting brackets for the Sony, wouldn't work. Had to make a new sub-frame to mount the flat-screen monitor. I had a piece of 18 ga sheet metal which I cut and bent to fit in place, and tack-welded nuts in a way that I could use the original monitor mounting screws.
It came out looking like a factory install, and works great. I also installed a RH camera which the monitor displays whenever I use the right turn signal. It's a good upgrade project.

Thanks for your reply. I went ahead and picked up 4 of the RVS splice connectors. I'm going to try using the existing weldex cable and splicing the new ends on it. I thought about taping a small diameter nylon rope to the camera end of the cable and pulling it through, then tape the RVS camera to the rope and pulling it back through the coach.
This Monaco Knight is 4-seasons and nothing on the bottom is exposed. I have no ideal if the camera cable is zip tied into a harness along the way, or what. Will try splicing first.
I like the way you mounted your camera.
